Al-Ahly Club supports Gaza with aid

In an attempt to show solidarity with their brothers in Palestine, the Al-Ahly Club’s Board of Directors decided to direct an aid convoy to the Gaza Strip. The Executive Director of Al-Ahly Club, Saad Shalaby, told Currency24.Net that the step comes in implementation of a previous decision taken by the Council following the outbreak of war in the region.

Shalabi stated that the council has taken several measures, including allocating ticket revenues for the return match against Tanzania's Simba team in the CAF League for the benefit of Gaza residents. The entire income was directed to preparing the convoy.

Two Saudi planes arrived in Al-Arish to deliver humanitarian aid to residents of Gaza who are under siege.

Al-Ahly Club decided last October 18 to stop broadcasting on all its official platforms, and to close its website and television channel. In addition, he called on members in all club branches to donate blood for the benefit of those injured in Palestine, and asked all club sports teams to wear black armbands on the stadiums. The club also called on the concerned authorities to allow attendance at the full capacity of Cairo Stadium for the Tanzania match against Simba, to support the brothers in Palestine, and to allocate the entire financial revenue from the tickets to Gaza. 30,000 fans have been approved to attend.

Responding to basic needs

Shalabi emphasizes the ongoing efforts to prepare the convoy carrying basic aid to the community in Gaza, as the convoy was equipped with food commodities, medical products, and water, in order to alleviate the suffering suffered by the Palestinians in light of the harsh conditions in the region.

The team responsible for preparing the convoy consists of a group of volunteers and workers who cooperated to ensure the preparation of the necessary materials for the Palestinian community that has been suffering from the siege for a long time.

The convoy includes 4 large trucks, which moved in the right direction on Thursday, and are expected to arrive in Gaza as soon as possible, after obtaining the necessary approvals to enter the region at the appropriate times.

Information indicates that this initiative was launched in cooperation with the institutions of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action in Egypt, which is one of the largest institutions in this field, and which participated in sending many convoys to the sector.

Supporting the Al-Ahly Club for the Palestinian people in Gaza

Before the convoy set off for the Rafah land crossing, a number of Al-Ahly Club members attended to confirm their full support for the people of Gaza. Also present was Board Member Muhannad Magdy, who wrote a letter of support to the people of the Gaza Strip. Shalabi confirms that the club continues to support the residents of Gaza in this crisis and participates in community services to achieve a small part of the human rights of the Palestinians.
